Oaktone support
Backstage
Plug an Oakboard into this computer and the page reads its firmware, tells you exactly what to update and how, lets you change what each button and fader sends, and shows every MIDI message live.
Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera on Mac and Windows. Safari and Firefox can't talk to MIDI devices yet.
With Shift on, the bottom middle button stops sending MIDI and becomes a modifier, giving every other button a second message.
Practice
Raises or lowers the tempo while it runs, then stops at the target. Good for building speed on a part.
Mutes one bar in every few. If you land on the 1 when it comes back, your time is honest.
Pushes the off-beat 8ths or 16ths late. Needs a subdivision on.
Plays a bar before anything else happens. With MIDI clock on, Start goes out after the count-in.
The link opens Backstage on this tab with the tempo, meter, and subdivision set.
Advanced
Whole BPM matches what you would type into a DAW. Exact runs the metronome at the tapped tempo to the decimal.
A pause longer than this starts a fresh run of taps.

Programming mode
Unplug the Oakboard, hold PLAY and PREV while plugging it back in. Every button flashes and stays lit. Now the Programmer can read and write it.
Bootloader mode
For USB-C Oakboards only. Unplug it, hold STOP while plugging it back in. The buttons stay dark, and the Firmware Loader can flash it.
Stuck?
The Help Center covers every Oakboard, or write to support with the model and firmware shown above and we'll sort it out.
